How to maximise and keep tourist dollars in your town

John and Barry came to the same town on the same day of the year and visited for the same period of time... in fact everything leading up to the holiday for John and Barry was the same with only one exception. Johns visit was 2007 and Barrys was 2010.

The hotel at which both John and eventually Barry stayed decided in early 2010 that they would implement an iVisit touch screen at the request of the local VIC to help visitors find out more information about the town. This seemingly small decision at the time ended up having quite a big impact on Barrys holiday. You see while John waited for his morning coffee to be poured in the lobby area, he picked up a magazine from the stand and read about the latest happenings in Hollywood while Barry (3 years later) noticed a flashy looking touch screen he thought he might play with.

Completely engrossed, Barry took his morning brew back to the touch screen and found out exactly what was happening in the town at the time he was visiting. As a result, Barry fully immersed himself in everything the town had to offer from he went to a fair, a trade show, some local sports games, a few unique little shops, ate his favourite foods at the best restaurants and even (much to his surprise) toured the vineyard that produced his favourite wine.

John also had a good time but only went out half as much as Barry and ended up leaving the place wondering what he might've missed out on...
